Hello,
my brother and I want to build a semi-detached house together. Each apartment should have about 110 sqm (1,184 sq ft) of living space.
Unfortunately, our choice of plot is limited because the available lots in the development all face north, meaning the street side is the south side. We currently have a plot reserved with a 26 m (85 ft) street frontage and a depth of 29 m (95 ft). Our idea was originally to build a longer, symmetrical house with a gable roof, where the ridge runs parallel to the street.
Does anyone have ideas on how to make the most of a north-facing orientation? Perhaps by arranging the building differently? My brother wants to live in his apartment himself, while I plan to rent mine to seniors.
Thanks,
haaber73

Returns are usually only achieved through property value appreciation.

So how do you expect seniors to rent your semi-detached house, when your brother’s semi-detached house will most likely be spread over two levels?
My brother wants to live in his own apartment, I would like to rent mine to seniors.
