Slope property – and this is really a steep slope, and the budget does not work. Simply building into the hill, whether a bungalow or with a basement, costs money. Excavation, slope stabilization, the uphill wall designed as a retaining wall, reinforcement in the foundation slab, and so on. The outdoor areas and terraces are possible but only with earthworks and retaining walls.

For 180,000 you can get a simple small bungalow on flat land. To meet Nordlys’ budget, significant self-labor is necessary.

For Tim Müller. Nordlys had a bungalow built relatively cheaply as a turnkey project. He questioned every expense carefully—do I need this, and so on. Very disciplined.

Hello Tim Müller!
Build your bungalow with a shed roof, ideally with a wide south-facing front, and integrate it directly into the hillside.

If it’s not possible without adding a floor, check out the website of ascendor Lifttechnik.
They definitely offer good lift solutions.
This company from Upper Austria/Mühlviertel is based in Herzogsdorf/Drautendorf and is becoming increasingly popular and larger.
By the way, the owner family also owns Biohort, which produces the storage solutions and garden sheds that user Nordlys often praises.
Now I’ll stop with the advertisement – haha.

Hey, thanks for your reply. Building a bungalow with a wide south-facing front into the hill unfortunately doesn’t work here because the south side is at the back, meaning the slope rises slightly upward.
