Hello,
we are moving in next month, and I wanted to ask what indoor humidity levels you had when moving in, or what you would recommend.
(solid construction)
The painter just finished.
Currently, the humidity is at 65%, but I will run dehumidifiers for another 4 weeks.
I donât want it to go below 50%.
Iâm used to 30% indoor humidity from a timber frame house...
I woke up every morning with a dry mouth for 6 years.

Well, you only stay above 50% (in winter) if you consistently avoid ventilating... but then it becomes uncomfortable.
With proper ventilation behavior, this is only possible with a humidifier.
In 4 weeks it will definitely be quite warm, then you will be around 50%, and in summer more, since you probably donât have a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery. Or you leave the windows open at night.

boxandroof16 Mar 2019 17:23At move-in in July, the moisture level was around 65%, which was too high. With controlled mechanical ventilation, regular airing, and depending on the weather, additional use of a simple dehumidifier, we managed to keep it below 60%.
Before winter, it was at 55%, and now after the first winter, it is at 50%.
The controlled mechanical ventilation system includes humidity recovery.

readytorumble16 Mar 2019 18:04I find 65% absolutely acceptable. Between 50 and 60% is optimal, and above 70% becomes problematic again. I wouldnât get any construction dehumidifiers for that now⊠Just move in and ventilate as usual.
