Hello housebuilding community,
we have built a house with a controlled mechanical ventilation system. We have extremely low humidity levels (according to a simple meter, about 25%) – so our throats feel dry and scratchy.
Since a central humidification system seems impractical (according to the ventilation installer, also due to the potential contamination of the air ducts), here is my question: How have you dealt with this issue, or what solutions have been suggested to you?
As we have underfloor heating everywhere, which is only running minimally anyway, there is no classic option for steam humidification; I find portable humidifiers quite unattractive and complicated to operate: constantly refilling the water tank, changing filters, etc.
If these portable devices are the only option, do you have any recommendations? We would only place one in the bedroom, so it is important that it is quiet and as visually appealing as possible.
Thank you very much –
