ᐅ How to Secure a Garage Roof / Roof Against Break-Ins?

Unfortunately, due to a serious incident in the family, I have become very cautious about the topic of break-ins.

To the left of our house is our garage, which could easily be climbed using a small ladder. From the roof of the garage, it would then be quite simple to access the house roof. One of the children's bedrooms, especially with its window open there, could look very inviting. This thought makes me quite uneasy. With some skill, it would also be possible to quickly get onto the balcony in front of our bedroom through that window.

Demolishing the garage is definitely not an option 🙂 but how could this be secured?
