Hi everyone,

I am planning to install a dimple membrane around my house. I asked three acquaintances who are supposed to be familiar with this, but I got what felt like four different opinions.
How is the dimple membrane installed correctly? Which side should be fixed where, and what materials are needed? Does anyone have experience with this?
The reference point for the height is my front door. The height of the dimple membrane should be 1 meter (3.3 feet).

White detached house with dark pitched roof, building zone in front, rural fields in the background

Best regards & thanks

You don’t fasten it; you just place it in between.

Are you sure? I haven’t heard that before.

I would have seen it the same way, that it shouldn’t be fastened.
After all, it is a mechanical protection that should allow for some slight movements. If you nail the membrane down firmly, it will tear...
“Can” maybe, but definitely not “must.”

Ok, so maybe secure something to the foundation and then press it against the facade with wooden battens until the soil and gravel are in place?

We didn’t fasten ours either. They were only about 30cm (12 inches) strips.
We just laid down whatever was handy at the moment (like a paving stone or similar), then filled it with soil or gravel, and that was it.
