Hello,

we are looking for something to make the windows in our walk-in closet opaque, so that we don’t have to keep the blinds down all the time.

What would you recommend to make the windows opaque?

What would be the best solution?

I applied a foil on the bathroom wall up to shoulder height. From inside, I still have a good view outside, and from the outside, only the head is visible.

We did the same in our bathroom. It’s easy to install on your own.

These films can also be purchased pre-cut (to size). They come in various levels of light and privacy transmission, as well as different patterns or solid colors. Installation can be done by yourself. You just need to work carefully for a short time and make sure that no dirt is trapped between the film and the window.

There are also these types of films with attractive patterns and designs if you like that style. We have these in two bathrooms as well. In our previous homes, we used them too, and we rarely had any issues. You just need to work carefully, and then you have a durable and cost-effective solution for many years.

We chose mirror film for the walk-in closet. It does darken the room slightly, but you can still see outside while preventing others from looking in.

We couldn’t use pleated blinds because we have a transom window.

However, this only works during daylight. At night, people can still see inside.
