Hello,
we have been living in a newly built rental home for 4 years now.
Now we want to have beige tiles again in our own house. Unfortunately, the grout, which was originally light gray, has turned completely black. Does anyone have tips on how to keep grout light and clean for a longer time in a new build? (Yes, brushing with a toothbrush helps, but you only want to do that once.)
Maybe some of you have experience with this. Thanks in advance.

I can hardly imagine that there are differences in the quality of the grout. There are different colors, yes. We have higher-priced Villeroy & Boch tiles along with very cheap grout. However, we didn’t specifically inquire about it. I just remember a hefty extra charge for the tiles.

To be honest, I would also consider improper cleaning as a possible cause.
And cheap grout with expensive tiles... well, were you offered premium grout or not? To be honest, I don’t think the tiler considers Villeroy & Boch a premium brand, and then voluntarily uses top-quality grout?!
