ᐅ How to Keep an Overview of All Maintenance and Renovation Tasks for the House?

Hi,
I am looking for an app, a portal, or something similar where I can view and ideally manage or schedule all the necessary maintenance and related tasks for my house. I could probably gather everything from Google and put it into an Excel sheet or calendar, but maybe someone has a recommendation for a "home manager" app or another approach. Thanks!
Best regards,
Carsten

I’ll check out the app. Currently, we share everything using the iPhone’s ToDo app. It’s been working well so far, but it seems your tool offers even more features.

Regarding the argument that problems are noticed and then fixed, I’d like to point out that many tasks need to be done proactively to ensure long-lasting enjoyment of your house and appliances. So this approach can be very useful.
A few examples, maybe you could even use these as templates:
  • Our fully automatic coffee machine requires monthly cleaning; otherwise, the seals/internal components can get damaged. We neglected this for a while, and the machine started leaking. Fortunately, it was covered under warranty.
  • The heating system needs annual servicing.
  • Smoke detectors must be checked regularly. If you find out they aren’t working, it’s usually too late.
  • We have a clothes dryer. It’s very convenient, but since it doesn’t have a lint filter, lint builds up inside the machine over time. This gradually reduces drying performance. Once a year, I take it apart and clean it, then it works like new again.
  • As mentioned before: start up the drone once a year to inspect the roof.

These are tasks we have only planned so far or already do in our apartment. The house isn’t even finished yet. With the garden and other areas, there will be more regular maintenance tasks.

A simple calendar is sufficient for that.

That’s something you notice. When the performance drops, you take action. I wouldn’t necessarily schedule that in advance.
You could also just put a sticker with the last cleaning date on the front of the appliance. Then you see it every time you use it. If someone still ignores that, no app will help.

What exactly should that accomplish? The interval is far too long to identify problems. If the roof has been leaking for a few weeks already, it’s too late anyway. I just check the roof from all sides after a major storm and that’s enough.

I don’t want to deny that there are things in a house that require regular attention. But a dedicated app for just 4-6 tasks seems excessive. I don’t oil every window in the house exactly once a year either. As soon as I notice a window is stiff, of course I oil them all then. But not according to a strict maintenance schedule.

A few examples — maybe you could even use these as templates:
    • Our fully automatic coffee machine requires monthly cleaning, otherwise the seals and internal parts get damaged. We let it slide for a while, and the machine started leaking. Luckily, it was covered under warranty.
    • The heating system needs annual maintenance.
    • Smoke detectors must be tested. By the time you realize they aren’t working, it’s usually too late.
    • We have a tumble dryer. It’s a good appliance, but since it doesn’t have a lint filter, lint builds up inside the machine. Over time, this reduces drying performance. Once a year, I take it apart and clean it, and then it works like new again.

I completely agree with you. While designing the app, I noticed even more topics that we currently don’t have on our radar.

    - Some templates are already available, but more will be added. Eventually, users will also be able to submit their own.
    - You can already create "Custom Tasks" and set them up fully according to your requirements.

Please feel free to leave feedback if you think of anything, thanks. (For example, via the feedback button at the top of the app)

So, I descaled my coffee machine for the first time the day before yesterday after 3.5 years; I’ve never cleaned it with those nasty tablets. It still works like it did on the first day.

I’m all for automation wherever possible, but not for the annual maintenance appointment for the heating system or changing a filter in the decentralized ventilation system. I just take off the cover, check, and in the bedrooms I clean it three times more often than in the study because there is more dust there...

If you enjoy that, that’s fine. But it doesn’t save you any time.

I would really appreciate any kind of feedback and suggestions.
Well-intentioned idea, but unfortunately completely unnecessary. Not useless, just unnecessary. Sorry...

Open feedback is more than welcome.

I accept "not useless." Work is ongoing on the "but unnecessary" part, and the appropriate target audience is being sought.
