Hi,
I am looking for an app, a portal, or something similar where I can view and ideally manage or schedule all the necessary maintenance and related tasks for my house. I could probably gather everything from Google and put it into an Excel sheet or calendar, but maybe someone has a recommendation for a "home manager" app or another approach. Thanks!
Best regards,
Carsten

I believe there isn’t a dedicated app for these kinds of topics (or only very few), since the development effort is relatively high compared to the rather low demand. A house is not just a house. The issues that can arise are very diverse. Depending on the age of the house and the preferences of the users, very different reminders may be needed for each user.
Collecting and filtering all that in an app would be quite complex.
Apart from house-specific details, the main functional requirement is basically something like Excel or a calendar. That’s why most people create their reminders manually and enter them into a regular calendar, Excel, Jira, or other planning tools.

You could hire a building superintendent service. What you want, whether an app or a checklist, simply doesn’t exist. Period.

As mentioned before, a gutter can stay clear for 25 years if there are no trees nearby. Or it gets blocked every 4 weeks because leaves from surrounding trees keep blowing in.

You don’t go to the doctor for a full checkup every 4 months either, only when something hurts.

You’ll have to take on the mental load yourself. That’s how it is when you own the property.

I once missed the appointment for the chimney sweep and quickly ended up with a fine notice from the city for 50€ (about $55) in the mailbox. It was possible to resolve it retroactively (the chimney sweep had breached their contractual duties), but it was unpleasant. Still, I would call that a "life experience" and wouldn’t bother with any extra app or calendar gimmicks because of it—that’s life.

Take things as they come, and rather invest your time in your family instead of worrying too much about these kinds of things. I think you’re getting caught up in something that won’t make life any easier, even if you have a calendar for it.

And if you do forget something and it catches up with you, you can always get advice here in the forum. It would be a digital desert if everyone here always had everything on their radar and acted proactively ;-)

Why not just use a regular ToDo app? The standard Reminders app on the iPhone, for example, is more than sufficient. Simply create a second list there and share it with your family.

Whenever something comes up, add an entry and set a due date if needed. Once completed, check it off. Done. If a task needs to be done annually (like heating system maintenance), set it to repeat yearly, and the app will remind you every year.

About 7 months ago, I asked for recommendations on a web application to organize maintenance and renovation tasks around the house. We simply found it difficult to keep our home in the condition we expected.

I then decided to develop a web app myself to help organize and visualize tasks, costs, and energy consumption related to my house. This web application "Homerockr" is now also available for other homeowners and tenants. I would really appreciate your expert feedback.

The following features were important to me:

- available online
- visually appealing
- reminder function
- comprehensive task pool
- motivating users to take care of their home

The web app is still in the early stages, and I have a long list of features I would like to expand with ideas from you.

With the token "ehrenmitglied" (see field during registration), you have access to all functions free of charge.

I would be grateful for any kind of feedback and suggestions.

Best regards,

Carsten

I am immediately notified that the application does not work on the mobile phone.
