Hello, I have installed 5 Cat7 network cables in the house. They all start at a patch panel and then go to the network outlets.

The problem now is that one of them doesn't work. I have already replaced the outlet once and connected it to a different port on the patch panel. Each time, the tester shows that channel 8 is not working.

How can I identify the cause here?

Do I understand correctly that you have already swapped the modules at both ends of the cable in question? Or, as it reads, are you using a punch-down tool?
Are you sure the wiring is correct?
If you have empty conduits, replace the cable. Otherwise, test it thoroughly with a good tester. You can then locate the fault by sound. Ultimately, this means the cable will need to be removed for repair.
Installing a new cable is usually easier...

If you have conduit, replace the cable. Otherwise, test it with a good tester. You can then use tone tracing to locate the fault. Ultimately, this means the cable has to be removed for repair.

Can I possibly test something with a multimeter? I would rather avoid replacing the cable.

Surface-mounted cable or with keystone?

Of course you can do that. Just measure each conductor at the open ends.
If all have continuity, then your problem is not with the cable.
