Hello everyone,

I need some advice...

In our new build, I want to install 5mm (0.2 inch) thick vinyl flooring, and there are screed measurement points installed in every room.

Do I need to seal these? If yes, with what material? The screed is concrete.

Attached is a picture, and thank you very much for your help.

5mm (0.2 inches) does not sound like click vinyl. The surface needs to be perfectly level. You should use a leveling compound anyway, and you can also use it to fill the holes.

Sure, 5mm (0.2 inches) luxury vinyl plank, click vinyl… the height difference was measured and it fits. The only question is what to do about the measurement points...

You don’t need the leveling compound to adjust the height, but rather to achieve a perfectly flat surface. When gluing down vinyl flooring, even the smallest dust particle or minor unevenness—which can still be present on a sanded screed—will be visible afterwards.

I would also pay attention to the subfloor. 5mm (0.2 inches) is almost nothing, so you will feel everything through it. It needs to be perfectly level and clean.

Why did you choose such a thin covering? You have limited your options for the future. Other types of flooring have a thicker buildup, which means if you ever want to install hardwood or tile, you could run into issues with door frames, steps, and so on.

Thank you for the answers, I am aware of all that, but unfortunately it does not answer my question....
