Hello everyone,

we have a small problem with an older cabinet. The door’s paint has now cracked and needs to be re-covered with a new adhesive film. The cabinet itself is no longer available, and the washbasin on top has been customized.

Where would you go for something like this? Or do people usually order adhesive film and do it themselves?

I would simply remove the door, order the appropriate film, and then apply it onto the door by stretching or sticking it. It can’t be that difficult.

Probably the best solution to preserve the piece of furniture is to remove both doors and take them to a local cabinetmaker. They can then recommend a good solution.
DIY – as suggested by @jrth2151. If that doesn’t work, the option of using a cabinetmaker is always available.

Is this standing upright? So, in theory, can it be glued?
If yes, I would use colored adhesive tape that matches, stick one over the crack, and then randomly place a few more up and down, like people tend to do these days.

You just have to like it, I guess.

You have to like that kind of thing, though.

Anyway, I like ideas like that.....

The crack clearly has a cause. This should be addressed first, and then the surface leveled. The membrane does not tolerate any unevenness. If you feel confident doing it yourself, why not.
