we have a small problem with an older cabinet. The door’s paint has now cracked and needs to be re-covered with a new adhesive film. The cabinet itself is no longer available, and the washbasin on top has been customized.
Where would you go for something like this? Or do people usually order adhesive film and do it themselves?

wiltshire27 Jan 2025 16:44Probably the best solution to preserve the piece of furniture is to remove both doors and take them to a local cabinetmaker. They can then recommend a good solution.
DIY – as suggested by @jrth2151. If that doesn’t work, the option of using a cabinetmaker is always available.

If yes, I would use colored adhesive tape that matches, stick one over the crack, and then randomly apply some up and down, as people tend to do these days.

You have to like that kind of thing, though. Anyway, I like ideas like that.....

hanghaus202328 Jan 2025 12:33The crack clearly has a cause. This should be addressed first, and then the surface leveled. The membrane does not tolerate any unevenness. If you feel confident doing it yourself, why not.
