Hello

I am planning to buy the Mandal bed frame in 140x200 cm (55x79 inches). However, I have a question for those who already have it or know about it. It comes with a slatted bed base. Is the bed base directly screwed onto the Mandal frame, or is it simply laid on top? My problem is that my room is quite small, and the bed would be placed with one side against the wall, so the drawers wouldn’t be accessible. But if the slatted bed base can be lifted, I could reach the drawers from above. I would really appreciate any quick answers. Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Lucky

The grate is usually firmly screwed in place, but this is not absolutely necessary. However, since the grate could move, I would at least cushion the support surfaces with felt to prevent any unpleasant noises.

I have a question about this frame... are those just wooden slats, or is it a proper frame that also gives way when you lie down on the bed?

These are simple wooden slats, so there is no springiness.

Ah, thank you very much for your reply. Would you recommend the Mandal bed?

Hi,

have you bought the Mandal bed yet? What can you tell me about it? I’m interested in getting one myself. However, the slatted frame puts me off a bit. If it doesn’t have any spring action and is just made of slats, that usually isn’t very supportive. Today, I actually bought a 140cm by 200cm (55 inches by 79 inches) slatted frame because I didn’t read the Mandal description properly. Hopefully, I can just use that slatted frame with the bed and place it inside.

Is there anyone who can tell me what the Mandal is like? Does the mattress stay in place without slipping?

Best regards
