Hendrik1980Dear forum,
Is it possible to achieve the KfW 55 EE standard using an air source heat pump? Is it sufficient to mainly use green electricity to power the heat pump in order to meet the requirement of heating with renewable energy?

As far as I know, it doesn’t matter what kind of electricity is used to operate the heat pump. It’s also difficult to verify whether the electricity coming from your outlet is actually renewable, nuclear, solar, or generated by a treadmill.
What matters is that the chosen heating method is powered by renewable energy.

I just don’t understand that. In the case of an air source heat pump, the heating method relies on electricity, which is not inherently renewable.
