Hello everyone,

I am planning to buy a Brimnes bed from Ikea, but I have some concerns about the wall mounting. My question is: How secure is the Ikea BRIMNES wall attachment really, especially regarding stability and long-term durability?

I’m interested in experiences with the included mounting hardware as well as tips on how to improve it, for example with older or less load-bearing walls.

What problems or risks can arise if the connection is not done properly, and are there any professional tips on how to minimize the risk?

I look forward to your experiences and assessments!

Thanks for all the helpful tips yesterday!

To sum up, I now understand that the included fasteners are suitable for a standard solid wall, but for drywall or timber stud walls, it’s important to use more appropriate anchors and screws.

I will definitely get specialized anchors and be very careful during installation.

Does anyone happen to know if Ikea offers any reinforcements or additional mounting hardware as optional accessories for the Brimnes bed?

I want to make sure I have everything sorted before purchasing the furniture.

Ikea does not offer any special reinforcements for BRIMNES.

The wall-mounting hardware included is only the standard parts.

Those who want to be sure should get better anchors themselves.

I haven’t heard of that. Ikea usually focuses on mass production, so their kits are standardized.

I would recommend getting high-quality wall plugs and screws instead of relying on supposed “reinforcements” from Ikea.

Also, if needed, you can always add screws yourself where it really matters.

Sometimes it's the simple things that make all the difference!

A quick tip: use a spirit level when drilling and make sure to keep enough distance from the floor so that the screws are properly secured.

With the right tools, even this kind of fastening can be done quickly – and peace of mind comes with it 😊

I just wanted to offer some encouragement: Anyone who takes the time to properly secure the bed to the wall will have peace of mind afterward!

It’s not just about safety but also about preventing the bed from wobbling or creaking.

So: Work carefully, prepare well, and then enjoy!

Thanks to everyone for the many helpful suggestions.

I have now obtained metal hollow wall anchors for my drywall and will start the installation in the next few days.

Your feedback has really helped me better assess the risks and choose a secure solution.

Once the bed is assembled, I will report back on whether the stability meets your expectations.

Best regards!
