ᐅ How much does a good new heat pump typically cost? Looking for experiences and insights!

trx_typeHi everyone, we are currently planning our housebuild quite intensively, and when it comes to choosing a heating system, we are considering using a heat pump. We have heard from friends that, in the long run, it can be more cost-effective because heating costs are reduced. However, these friends do not have one themselves yet; they are just thinking about it. What is your opinion on this? What should we consider? Would you recommend it? We are also thinking of getting advice soon from Vaillant, as they apparently have pretty good customer service. In general, I would appreciate any tips on this topic. Thanks in advance!

Low heating costs don’t depend on just one feature; many factors play a role, such as the building envelope, heating system design, underfloor heating or radiators, and your own usage habits.
A fuel-efficient 1.0-liter gasoline engine can still use a lot of fuel when installed in a truck ;-)

I recommend browsing through these topics a bit:

1.) If finances allow, then a geothermal heat pump... Unless other factors prevent this, such as the soil conditions of the plot, regulations concerning groundwater, or if the general contractor opposes it when they are responsible for the construction.
2.) An air-source heat pump is the option if point 1 doesn’t work out due to the various reasons. Or it can be used with a low heating load house and/or in combination with a photovoltaic system. Although a photovoltaic system is never a bad idea, except when poorly planned and executed.
3.) In general, there are no bad heat pumps (whether air, ground, or water source), only poorly designed houses or hydraulics.
4.) The exception is if it’s not an extremely well-insulated passive house. Then never accept so-called air-to-air heat pumps or so-called comfort air heating or any other similar heating system.
