We are still at the very beginning and have already purchased our plot of land. We are currently working on our first floor plans for our single-family house. How long does it usually take to obtain the building permit / planning permission? We want to build a turnkey house with a general contractor. How much time does a company typically need to provide us with a quote?

After submitting the building permit application to the local authority, the processing there alone usually takes a good 6 months. For us, it was 3 months, so half that time.

After that, the builder typically has another 2 months of scheduling time before construction actually starts. What exactly is “scheduling time”? That’s definitely not a standard term, we don’t know it, and it didn’t exist here.

It can certainly go the way you describe, but your post seems very “definite” or set in stone to readers. It’s definitely not like that, rather just your own experience. By the way, have you even completed building? From your other posts, one might guess you are still in the middle of the process.
