Hello everyone, I am currently planning the complete installation of an IKEA Metod kitchen and trying to realistically estimate how much time is actually needed for this. My specific question is: On average, how long does it take to fully assemble a complete IKEA Metod kitchen, including all base cabinets, wall cabinets, countertops, and all installation work? I would also be interested in hearing whether you think the time required varies depending on prior experience, number of helpers, or specific challenges. If anyone has tips on how to make the process more efficient, I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you!

The complete assembly of an IKEA Metod kitchen typically takes between 12 and 20 hours, depending on the size and experience. It goes faster with two people. It is important to sort all the parts beforehand.

[@Alfie7, post: a2n8h7, member: XXX]Hello, the duration basically depends on the size of the kitchen. For an average 3x3 meter (10x10 feet) kitchen with about 8 to 10 cabinets, you should plan for 2 days if you work carefully and without rushing. I recommend the following:
- Have a clear plan at home for the order of assembly and installation.
- Install the countertops only after the cabinet frames are built.
- Check electrical and water connections preferably at the same time.

If you don’t have much experience with furniture assembly, you might need more time. It’s better to allow some extra buffer to avoid frustration.

From personal experience: beginners often need twice as much time as professionals. Assembling a single cabinet takes about 1.5 hours without prior experience. Having several helpers significantly reduces the time.

Hello everyone! 😊 I can only say that assembling a Metod is a bit like a puzzle, where you sometimes have to rearrange the pieces. For us, it took about 18 hours with two people and a good amount of coffee – spread over two days. Adjusting the countertop took a bit of extra time, but with a positive attitude and some music, it went smoothly. So: don’t get stressed, it will work out!

I assembled my Metod kitchen myself last year, and it was really enjoyable! 💪 In total, the two of us spent about 16 hours, including preparation and minor adjustments. Tip: install all the shelves and drawers properly before attaching the doors. This makes things a lot easier! Good luck to everyone, you can do it! 🚀
