Below you can see a picture of a house whose exterior (especially the materials and color combination) we find very appealing. The facade is partly coated with light gray plaster. However, between the windows there are panels? These match the frame color of the windows, and the front door, garage door, canopy, and flashing also coordinate perfectly with it.
Now for the main question: How are these facade sections with a different material finish between the windows constructed? Are these small areas made with a curtain wall system? Is it very expensive? Or is it simply that the plaster was omitted there and panels were mounted instead?

If the windowsill is supposed to run continuously, you will have no choice but to make the section where the panels are attached thinner than at the windows. Specifically, this can be done by using thinner wall thicknesses in that area or by using thinner insulation. Working with thinner insulation (but of higher quality or with the same thermal value) behind the panels is probably the solution shown in the example image. However, the windowsill can’t really simply extend beyond the window frame over the masonry, as the windowsill itself would then create a thermal bridge directly to the masonry. I therefore wonder if the windowsill was shortened in depth under the panels to allow space for the thinner insulation behind it.
Um, what I don’t quite understand: why don’t you use the website where you got the photo? Three (!) minutes of research and the details of the window manufacturer (who is probably also responsible for the trims) can be found. Since posting links is strictly prohibited here, I have to encourage you to take the initiative yourself.

However, our windows are made by a different company. Therefore, I’m not sure how much information about the construction I can get without placing an order with the company...
