Hello! After the movers left, I am installing the large full-extension drawer for the sink cabinet by myself. It is mounted, but I have already realized that the waste bin system only fits in the cabinet if the second drawer—or rather the Rationell extension—is not installed. This was a planning mistake on my part, unfortunately. So I took the extension out again and installed only the lower drawer. This is the one with the double-piece front, although I don’t think it looks better than if it were a single piece.

However, I cannot get this thing onto the rail! The rail is installed in the cabinet as it should be (compared to other already installed drawers). When I place this heavy drawer on the rail, it clicks in at the front, but it can be lifted at the back and then falls forward (due to the weight imbalance) and comes out again. Did I install something incorrectly, or how is the drawer supposed to be properly “clicked” into the rail so that it stays in place?

Also, is there another waste bin system that fits with the installed shallow drawer, or does the bin system have to be left out?

At the back of the rail, there is a hook. It didn’t catch because the extension was probably slightly tilted.

Try this: Pull the rails all the way out. Place the extension onto the rail so that you can just see the hooks. If the extension tilts forward, load it from the back. Push the extension all the way in and make sure it clicks into place at the front.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked so far. It’s really difficult to do alone, but I also think I haven’t fully understood the mechanism yet. When I try it as described here, the drawer doesn’t slide all the way in but gets stuck somewhere before the end.

Do you have a picture?
Normally, it works the way the Ikea expert described...

Try, instead of sliding the drawer out, to reach under it after setting it in place and pull the rail and drawer together. Check if the rear hooks are bent downwards. The metal frame should be able to slide underneath it.

Unfortunately, no picture, as I’m not really sure how to photograph it. I’ll try installing it tonight with the help of a strong man and will report back afterwards.
