Good morning,

as you can see in the picture, I’m wondering how far the tiling should go? Has anyone experienced something similar or knows about this? How far does the front door extend inward?

I guess there is a reason why the screed installer stopped at the wooden board or placed it like that. Right?

Thank you very much.

Construction site indoors: concrete floor, cleaning broom, and building materials.

For both cases, the installation level of the final front door would have been important. Now the screed installer has created facts on the ground, probably because you didn’t specify anything else. I assume the wall structure remains monolithic? In that case, I would align with the level of the windows in the same wall to ensure the reveals always look roughly the same. The tile should then come as close to the front door as it does to a wall (that is, with a small joint, which is usually sealed with silicone).

I would also say: It depends on where and how the front door is planned, but for us it looked similar. The remaining space was then filled with screed by the tiler. Don’t you have underfloor heating?

Wait until the door is installed. If necessary, the screed may also need some additional work. But none of this is a problem.

You shouldn’t add more if it’s uncertain whether the screed installer applied the material correctly.
Install the front door first, then finish the area properly.
