Hello everyone, I recently bought some Ikea Platsa furniture and want to secure it on a soft carpeted floor. My main question is: What is the best way to fasten Ikea Platsa furniture on carpeted floors so that it stands firmly without wobbling or sliding? The standard floor fixings don’t work well for me because the carpet is too soft and the furniture can’t be reliably secured. I have considered different solutions (e.g., additional pads, special clamping or fastening systems), but I’m unsure which works best without damaging the carpet material. It would be great if anyone has tips or practical experience with securing Platsa on carpet—especially advice on assembly or suitable materials. Thanks in advance!
I experienced similar issues with a Platsa shelving unit on carpet. What worked well for me was placing a small piece of non-slip mat under each foot. This provides stability without the need for attaching or gluing anything. Additionally, I screwed the Platsa modules to the wall to prevent them from tipping over.
If the furniture still wobbles, I would recommend placing it on small wooden shims that you slide under the feet until everything is level. This is a practical and reversible solution.
Be careful with permanent adhesives or nails: they can damage the carpet, which is usually unwanted.

It is difficult to achieve long-term stability for furniture placed solely on carpet. The original Ikea brackets are designed for wall mounting—make sure to use them.
