Hello everyone,

I recently purchased an Ikea Pax system and am especially interested in the proper care of the drawers and built-in fittings. Specifically, I would like to know which cleaning products and maintenance methods are suitable to keep both the surfaces and the hinges, rollers, and drawer slides durable and fully functional. Are there any special precautions to take during cleaning to avoid material damage or loss of function?

Vinegar water is not recommended. Simply clean with a slightly damp cloth and a neutral cleaning agent. Wipe fittings dry only or care for them lightly with silicone spray.

- Surfaces: Use furniture cleaner for delicate surfaces or a pH-neutral all-purpose cleaner
- Drawer slides: Remove dust, lightly treat with PTFE-coated silicone spray
- Hinges: Occasionally lubricate with special oil for metal/plastic connections, clean beforehand with isopropanol
- Regularly check if screws need tightening

Important: Never use aggressive cleaning agents or abrasive cleaners.

I can only agree with this. It is important to wipe the surfaces with clean water after cleaning and to dry the furniture thoroughly. Moisture should not remain on the foil coating for a long time.

Finally, for the functional test: after cleaning, open and close the drawers several times to evenly distribute the lubricants. Do not use too much spray; it is better to apply it sparingly.
