I recently purchased an IKEA Brimnes furniture item and unfortunately noticed that some important parts were missing. I’m wondering what the best procedure is if individual components are not included in an IKEA Brimnes set or if you realize during assembly that parts are missing.
Does anyone have experience with this? What is the best way to contact IKEA customer service? Are there any specific tips or advice on what to consider when parts are missing to get replacements as quickly as possible?
I’m looking for the correct approach so that I don’t waste unnecessary time or risk not being able to complete the furniture. Thanks in advance!

Hey Teluke, I know that all too well! If parts are missing from your BRIMNES, it’s best to do a thorough check right after unpacking and note down all missing components.
I always have two tips:
- Contact the IKEA customer service by phone or chat; they are quick and friendly!
- Be sure to use the order number or receipt, as this speeds up the replacement process significantly.
Sometimes you can even do this online through the IKEA website. Definitely don’t get discouraged—replacement parts usually arrive quite quickly 🙂. Good luck!

Oh, that’s frustrating! 😕 But no worries – IKEA is usually very customer-friendly with issues like this. The key is to clearly explain to the staff which parts are missing and, if possible, have the item number ready. My advice: stay calm and polite – that usually helps to get a quick replacement.
Also:
- Take photos of the delivered parts in case there are any doubts
- Get written confirmation from customer service about when the replacement will arrive
Hope this helps a bit, keep your head up! 👍

It is important to tell the staff as precisely as possible what is missing and, if possible, to have the item number ready.Absolutely right! A small addition from me: If the furniture piece is already assembled and you can clearly see what is missing, check the manual – the parts are listed with numbers there, which makes communication much easier.
And hey: Don’t get discouraged, it will be quick, and then you can finally complete your BRIMNES. Good luck and enjoy assembling! 🚀
