Hello everyone,

I am currently assembling several IKEA Brimnes wardrobes and I have the issue that they wobble slightly after assembly. Since there are no heavy loads on the wardrobes yet, I suspect the cause is more related to the assembly method or the fixing. My specific question is: How can you prevent IKEA BRIMNES wardrobes from wobbling? Which assembly steps or additional measures are recommended to significantly increase stability? Are there any experiences with floor leveling, screws, or wall fixings that can prevent wobbling? I would really appreciate practical tips and advice that help achieve a permanently stable piece of furniture. Thank you in advance!

Wobbling is often caused by uneven flooring. First, check the base and compensate with felt pads or plastic feet. Wall anchoring is mandatory; otherwise, the cabinet will remain unstable. Tighten screws well, as this also stabilizes the structure.

I completely understand how frustrating a wobbly cupboard can be, especially when you want to build it securely and solidly.

A tip from me: Always make sure the cupboard is properly fixed to the wall. The supplied brackets should be screwed in correctly and as straight as possible. It also helps to use a plumb line before assembly to align the cupboard precisely. On uneven floors, adjustable furniture glides can work wonders.

If the wobbling persists, try tightening the connecting screws again after a few days, as the parts often settle slightly. I’ve also found that adding small felt pads or edge protectors between the back panel and the wall can provide extra stability.

Keep at it, it’s worth it! Feel free to share how it goes for you or if you’re stuck at any specific point.

That’s so important! You shouldn’t underestimate what proper wall mounting can do. Also, it’s really satisfying when everything is firmly in place after installation – it gives a really good feeling! 💪

I’d also add: Be sure to check all screws to make sure they are tightened properly. Sometimes small screws are overlooked or not fully tightened. Also, if you have carpet flooring, make sure the cabinet is standing on a solid surface, as that can increase wobbling.

Keep us updated, and good luck with the assembly! You’ve got this!! 😄
