Hello everyone,
I am considering using some furniture from the IKEA Brimnes series in my office but am unsure how to utilize it most effectively. Specifically, I am interested in how to arrange the different elements—such as the desk, cabinets, and shelves—in a way that maximizes storage space while creating a comfortable working environment.
Additionally, it would be great if someone could share tips on making the best use of the built-in compartments and, if applicable, how to combine them with other furniture. I value functionality but also an appealing design that supports productivity.
What are your experiences with Brimnes furniture in daily office use, and have you encountered any challenges? I look forward to constructive suggestions!

My recommendation is to primarily choose the Brimnes furniture based on the storage elements you need. If you have many folders, opt for tall cabinets with adjustable shelves. Small drawers are ideal for stationery and small items.
Do not place the workspace and storage too close together to allow enough room for movement.

Maybe you could also try experimenting with the movable Brimnes cabinets, which can be repositioned relatively easilyThat’s a good point. Brimnes isn’t extremely light, but thanks to the wheels and glides on some units, it’s mobile enough for practical spatial flexibility.
One more important note regarding combining this with technology: Make sure there is enough ventilation for computers or other devices when furniture is placed close together. This prevents overheating and extends the lifespan of the equipment.
How about monitor and lighting positioning? Especially in smaller rooms, you sometimes have to make compromises there.
