ELSUNARHello everyone, I am currently planning to transform an unused corner of my Pax wardrobe into a truly practical storage solution. The challenge is that the corner is quite limited due to the wardrobe’s construction, and I want to make the best use of the available space without compromising accessibility. Has anyone had experience modifying or adding to a Pax corner to neatly and easily store items of various sizes? I am especially interested in ways to improve space utilization in the often narrow, deep corners—perhaps with special inserts, shelves, or specific wardrobe accessories. I look forward to tips, recommendations, and any suggestions on products that work particularly well for this purpose.

GUSTAVO568 Oct 2021 09:43Hello ELSUNAR, your question really matches my interests, as I have equipped several Pax systems with sophisticated solutions myself. When it comes to corner spaces, there are two approaches: either you use rotating carousel units specifically designed for corners, or you work with custom-fit, height-adjustable shelves that make optimal use of the angle. A reliable first step is to precisely measure the internal dimensions of the corner—height, depth, and clear width. Then consider what items you want to store—clothes, boxes, accessories? Often underestimated: depth can be a problem because access becomes difficult. A practical solution is to install height-adjustable pull-outs or drawers that improve accessibility and create larger storage volume. Also, shelves with well-planned spacing help to organize the space efficiently. Here are a few technical details to keep in mind: - Distance between shelves around 30-35 cm (12-14 inches) for standard clothing, to avoid crushing - Aluminum profiles instead of conventional strips increase stability, especially under heavier loads - For the corner itself, mounted corner boxes with 90-degree extension rails are suitable. Do you have specific measurements or an idea of exactly what you want to store? That way, I could offer you more tailored suggestions.
Modular corner solutions for Pax are generally available, using swivel mechanisms to efficiently utilize space. Alternatively, pivoting shelves are an option. It is important to adjust according to the room layout, as Pax cabinets come in various depths. Additionally, the load capacity of the components must be considered, as heavy items can affect the mechanism. If in doubt, the system should be reinforced with metal fittings.
Using a corner space is like solving a puzzle where you need to find the right pieces to create a coherent overall picture. 😉 I once equipped a Pax corner unit with swivel shelves, and it worked really well – practical and somehow elegant. Maybe you could consider flat baskets that you can pull out or divide the space into tiers to create multiple levels without losing track. And if you use boxes or baskets, you can also organize them by color – which makes the whole setup even more aesthetically pleasing.

JEREMIAH388 Oct 2021 11:48I understand that these corners can be quite tricky. I spent a long time looking for a good solution myself and realized that it’s almost more important to clearly define your actual needs first. Think carefully about what you want to store there, as that largely determines the design. For me, it was mostly seasonal clothing and shoeboxes, so I installed height-adjustable shelves with fixed compartments. The carousel or rotating mechanism thing (sorry for the technical terms 😉) would have been too much effort. Sometimes a clever organizational solution without major alterations is enough, as long as you have everything clearly in view so you actually use it and don’t forget about it.
