Hello everyone, I have a small but quite annoying problem with my IKEA Platsa cabinet doors: they squeak loudly every time I open or close them. The squeaking sounds like the hinges are either not properly lubricated or some friction surface is catching unpleasantly. My goal is to get the doors as quiet as possible again without having to remove all the screws or replace any parts. Does anyone have experience with this issue? What products or methods have you used to permanently fix the squeaking on PLATSA doors? I’m looking forward to concrete tips and a helpful discussion – thanks in advance!
A small addition: If the hinges are very tight, this can cause increased pressure and lead to squeaking. Sometimes, loosening the screws slightly, realigning the door, and then tightening them again helps. Please make sure the door still hangs securely.
Additionally, I recommend never applying oil directly to the surface, as this will attract dust to the cabinet. It’s better to apply oil sparingly and only on the hinge itself.
