Hello everyone, I want to securely mount my Ikea Metod kitchen cabinets on drywall and have a few questions. The walls are standard gypsum plasterboards on metal studs, not load-bearing masonry. My goal is to ensure the cabinets are firmly fixed and can safely handle everyday stresses. Specifically, I would like to know:

- Which anchors or fasteners are best suited for this situation?
- What is the most reliable way to locate the metal studs behind the drywall?
- Do I need to reinforce the cabinets with a wooden batten, or are there other methods to distribute the load?
- Are there minimum distances or heights I should observe to prevent wall damage?

I have seen various fasteners, such as special metal construction screws or heavy-duty anchors, but I am unsure how these apply specifically to Ikea Metod cabinets. Any practical experience or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Connect the metal stud to the wooden batten, then attach the cabinets to it. Use metal construction screws of sufficient length. Screws must anchor into the metal profiles. Use a metal detector to locate the studs. An 18 mm (3/4 inch) OSB board is suitable.
