At first, I was also worried that the screws or brackets might be too visible. From my experience, with a bit of patience and the right materials, it works out really well! TVIN mentions using the original IKEA metal brackets, which I also used. Additionally, I had the countertop glued to the wall with mounting-specific silicone sealant, which really makes a difference because it stays almost invisible and holds the countertop even more securely. Combining adhesive and screws also gives you a good sense of security, especially if there are children or pets in the household.
