Hello everyone, I have noticed some unwanted scratches on the laminate surface of my Ikea PAX wardrobe, caused by normal use or accidental contact with sharp objects. Since the surface is not solid wood but a thin laminate on a particleboard, I want to avoid the scratches worsening or peeling off. Therefore, I am looking for effective methods to gently and permanently remove or conceal these scratches. I am interested in both professional products specifically designed for laminate surfaces and proven home remedies. It is also important to me to preserve the appearance as much as possible, meaning no uneven color tones or dull spots should appear. Does anyone have experience with Ikea PAX laminate surfaces and can provide reliable advice on scratch repair? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regarding laminate scratches on IKEA Pax, I can add the following:

- Avoid using abrasive materials like coarse sandpaper, as laminate has only a thin melamine surface, and excessive sanding can damage the underlying particleboard.
- Instead, specialized repair kits with color-matched waxes, markers, or pastes from the furniture industry are ideal, as they fill in scratches and visually blend them.
- Another proven method is treatment with a laminate care product, which provides protection and reduces minor scuffs.
- It is always important to clean and degrease the area thoroughly beforehand, for example with denatured alcohol.

If the damage is deeper, often the only solution is to replace the affected trim or, in extreme cases, to replace the front or surface panel, which can be more costly.

Here is a simple tip:

If the scratches are not too deep, polishing with a paste made from baking powder and a little water often helps. Gently rub this in circular motions using a soft cloth – it will reduce surface marks somewhat.

For deeper scratches, get repair wax from a furniture store, apply it, and polish.

Always test first to make sure it does not alter the color.
