Hello everyone, I am currently planning the installation of my new Ikea Metod kitchen and have realized that the individual parts will only be delivered a few days before assembly. My question is: What is the best way to store the Ikea Metod parts before installation to avoid damage or deformation? I am especially interested in how to store the large fronts, carcasses, and drawer bottom panels in a space-saving and secure manner, in case the room is limited and the parts are installed in multiple stages. Are there any experiences regarding the optimal storage conditions (temperature, humidity) or the arrangement of the parts (for example, lying flat versus standing)? I would appreciate practical tips, especially for situations where not all modules are assembled at the same time. Thanks in advance!
Thank you all, this already helps me a lot! The advice about stable storage and moisture protection was especially important. I have an additional question: If I store the parts in the storage room for an extended period (e.g., 2-3 weeks), would you recommend stacking the fronts flat or storing them individually? And do you use anything specific for protection between the individual fronts? Currently, I only have some fabric scraps and blankets, no special packaging materials.
Also, what about air circulation? Should the fronts be well covered, or is it better to store them uncovered to prevent condensation? I would appreciate any further tips, including practical advice for everyday handling.
