Hello everyone,
I recently installed glossy IKEA Metod cabinet fronts in my kitchen and am now looking for the best cleaning method that preserves the high-gloss finish without damaging the surface.
I am especially interested in tips on the right cleaning solution, appropriate tools, and how to avoid micro-scratches.
Can anyone tell me if special cleaning products are necessary or if common household remedies are sufficient?
I would appreciate any helpful experiences or recommendations!

Thanks for the previous tips!
Is it actually a problem to spray a glass cleaner on the fronts after cleaning and then wipe them down with a soft cloth? I’m asking out of concern because some glass cleaners contain ammonia or alcohol.
Would that damage the finish, or is it safe?
I’m also interested in how often the fronts should ideally be cleaned assuming normal kitchen use.

I recommend using such cleaners only occasionally and sparingly, and always performing a compatibility test on an inconspicuous spot. For regular cleaning, mild soapy water is more suitable.

how often the fronts should ideally be cleanedThis depends on how often they are used, but in a typical kitchen, cleaning about 1-2 times per week should be sufficient to effectively remove grease and dust.

Mild dish soap, warm water, soft cloth.
Use glass cleaner only for heavy dirt, but sparingly.

Great topic! At first, I was really concerned about the large surfaces and the high-gloss finish, but using a microfiber cloth and mild cleaning worked really well!
It’s really satisfying when the fronts shine beautifully and are clean 😊
Also, a tip: fingerprints can usually be easily buffed out if you wipe them off quickly!

That’s why I use a small spray bottle with water, spray lightly, wait a moment, and then wipe off right away with a soft cloth.
