Hello everyone,
I have several Billy shelves from IKEA at home and want to clean them regularly without damaging the surface. I am particularly interested in how to properly care for the sensitive surface, which cleaning agents are suitable, and the best way to avoid scratches, peeling of the laminate, or dull spots.
Could you please share any tips on methods that have proven effective and whether there are specific products or home remedies that should be avoided?
Thank you in advance!

I sometimes use a slightly damp cloth with a drop of lemon (CAUTION: only very sparingly and never pure lemon juice!)Be careful! Citric acid can definitely damage the film coating – I would generally advise against using acids, even diluted.
A pH-neutral cleaner will definitely protect the surface better.

I’m curious if Danyal9 has any particular issues with stains? As mentioned, mainly dust and grease stains, no stubborn or unusual dirt.

Remove dust weekly by dry wiping; wipe with a damp cloth every 4-6 weeksThat sounds like a good plan, thank you!
I will start like that and report if anything unusual happens or if I have further questions.
