Hello everyone, I have an issue with the IKEA MALM dressers—my drawers keep getting stuck, which makes opening and closing quite frustrating. I’ve already made sure the slides are clean, but the problem persists. My question is: How can I prevent MALM drawers from sticking? Are there any design-related tips or proven methods to avoid this issue permanently? I would like to know if there are any specific adjustments, lubricants, or other practical tricks that might help. Thanks in advance!

Hi Lejan,

don’t let the Malm drawer become a stress factor in your life 🙂 My simple rule of thumb: keep it clean, don’t overload it, and occasionally “oil” it gently with the right spray.

– I totally agree, you don’t want dust monsters building up and causing the drawer to stick.

Honestly, sometimes the simple solution is to take the drawer out completely and slide it back in fresh – a new start for the MALM :-)

Good luck with freeing your furniture! 😉

Some MALM drawer models use plastic rollers. If these become dusty or slightly damaged, the drawer may stick. Simply clean the rollers with a fine brush and replace them if necessary.

A small detail that is often overlooked.
