Hello everyone, I have a specific question: How can I prevent damage to an Ikea Pax wardrobe when it is used daily by children? Specifically, I am interested in how to avoid scratches, dents, or damaged fittings. It is especially important to know which protective measures or accessories have proven effective in maintaining the stability and appearance of the cabinets over time, without unnecessarily restricting the children’s use. I would greatly appreciate any tips on proper assembly, reinforcing the components, and child safety.

I can totally understand how quickly you start worrying when the kids are roughhousing around the cabinet.Honestly, I know that feeling too! You don’t want to keep saying “no” all the time, but with furniture like the Pax wardrobe, it’s really better to set clear boundaries. For us, door buffers worked wonders—they soften the impact when the kids get a bit too rough. I also put self-adhesive protective pads on the handles—they don’t look very high-tech, but they hold up really well.
Hello everyone 🙂
I believe a bit of wear and tear is part of life, especially when it comes to kids and furniture. However, I thought it was really important to prepare the Pax wardrobe carefully. For example, we placed a non-slip mat underneath to prevent the wardrobe from shifting even with small bumps. I also installed small magnets on the inside of the door fronts to help the doors close more securely and reduce rattling.
Of course, it’s not 100% protected against dents, but it definitely helps! The magnet system is especially great because the kids found it quite interesting as well.
