Hello everyone, I am currently planning to get an Ikea Pax wardrobe for our household, where several people will store their clothes and other items together. I am facing the challenge of designing the wardrobe in a way that provides enough space for all users while maintaining a practical layout.
My questions are: How do you plan your Pax wardrobes when it comes to multiple users? Do you use separate sections, entire modules per person, or rather a flexible interior? Are there any tips on which internal fittings (clothes rails, drawers, baskets) to pay special attention to in order to keep things organized and avoid conflicts?
Our situation: There are three of us, and the living space is limited, so the system needs to be used very efficiently. I am also interested in experiences with different heights (for example, 201 cm (79 inches) vs. 236 cm (93 inches)) and widths. Thanks for your advice!

I recommend planning the interior fittings in a modular way for multiple users.
- Each person gets a section with a clothes rail,
- drawers underneath,
- and compartments for accessories.
Tall models measuring 236 cm (7 ft 9 in) with an additional cupboard compartment at the top provide more storage space.
The plexiglass shelf for shoes can help keep things organized when shared by several people.
Important: Plan the assembly carefully to ensure each section is stable.

Thank you for your valuable responses, which have already helped me a lot.
I have an additional question that might be a bit more specific: How do you handle changing needs? For example, when one user needs more space for shirts, another suddenly requires more drawers instead of shelves, or for seasonal adjustments?
Are there flexible options with Pax to adjust the interior without major effort, or do you usually have to take everything apart?
I would like to find a configuration that not only works now but remains practical for all three users in a few years.

Hello Aydin,
Pax is indeed very flexible when it comes to customization. The interior components such as clothes rails, shelves, or drawers are relatively easy to remove and rearrange. The side panels have grooves where you can hang the brackets.
Of course, it takes some time to rearrange, but you don’t necessarily have to completely disassemble the entire closet.
This is a big advantage if your needs change or new users are added.
I would still recommend trying out different configurations before placing the final order and possibly ordering spare parts or additional components that can be installed as needed.

Marcellela7 May 2024 10:21Pax offers high modularity. Individual interior fittings can be easily replaced. If you are confident that your requirements will change, it is better to plan with standard widths and heights to maintain compatibility.
Note: You can also purchase extra shelves or drawers separately if the need arises.
This way, your wardrobe remains adaptable in the long term.
I can only emphasize this advice.
