Hello everyone,

I am planning to assemble my first IKEA Metod kitchen unit myself, but I am facing some challenges regarding the best order and method for assembling the modules. I am especially interested in how a beginner like me can proceed to avoid mistakes during assembly and achieve a stable, functional kitchen.

What tips can you give me on how to best organize the assembly of IKEA Metod kitchen units? Are there specific sequences I should follow? And how can I ensure that the individual components, such as cabinets, countertops, and fronts, fit together evenly and neatly?

I look forward to your experiences and advice!

Hello everyone,

I can well understand that assembling an IKEA Metod kitchen can be quite challenging at the beginning. I personally built my kitchen last week and had to pause several times.

I found it important to take breaks and not rush. This helped me avoid mistakes that would have taken more time to fix.

The community here in the forum is also very helpful because some problems can feel overwhelming at first – with support, it becomes easier.

At first, I was also worried about fitting the cabinet fronts correctly. It helped me to keep adjusting the hinges and not get frustrated.

What also helped me a lot was marking the carcasses with a pencil to keep track of which cabinet goes where.

Be patient, it’s worth it!

In addition to the tips already mentioned, I would like to address power tools:

A cordless drill with adjustable torque is especially useful for Metod kitchens to tighten screws optimally without damaging the material.

Also, don’t forget to carefully check all drill holes and fastenings before assembling everything.

Another helpful tip is marking the positions on the wall and cabinets before final screwing. This reduces mistakes and makes alignment easier.

Regarding installing countertops: if possible, have the countertop cut precisely on-site at the IKEA store. This saves a lot of effort at home!

Good luck with your project!
