Hello everyone,
I recently installed new IKEA Metod base cabinets in my kitchen and am working on optimizing storage as efficiently as possible. My specific question is: How can I maximize storage efficiency in IKEA Metod base cabinets, especially when dealing with different cabinet sizes and various kitchen appliances or storage containers?
At the moment, I mostly use the standard drawers but feel there’s more potential for better organization and accessibility. Are there any special dividers, accessories, or organizational tips you would recommend to fully utilize the space and make kitchen tasks easier?
I’m looking forward to your experiences and advice, including adaptations for individual needs like cutlery, pots, or cleaning supplies. Thanks in advance!

When it comes to storage, I’m also considering stackable boxes or special inserts.I felt the same way, and I find the challenge of keeping everything both organized and easily accessible is not straightforward. What helped me is a combination of transparent, stackable containers and the use of labels. It sounds simple, but it saves a lot of time and frustration in daily use.
In addition, for cleaning supplies, I kept the lower part of the cabinet under the sink completely free of unnecessary accessories and used a small, removable basket. You can quickly take it out when you need to clean something or clean the cabinet itself.
Sometimes, it’s the little details that make a big difference in maintaining order.

Rashadmeo19 Apr 2022 08:42I love optimizing my IKEA Metod base cabinets! My top tip is to use IKEA’s VARIERA components as often as possible and combine them creatively—for example, as small baskets, dividers, or stacking boxes!
Exactly! And don’t be afraid to experiment—rearranging every few weeks can suddenly make your kitchen feel much more inviting.
Also: a magnetic cutlery panel on the inside of a cabinet door can work wonders when you want to save space!
Keep at it; becoming a “storage pro” is really fun!
