Hello,
I have a question. I recently moved into a new house and am now looking for a way to hang curtains without drilling. In my old apartment, I used café curtains with those mounts, but these brackets don’t fit the windows here. Is there another option? I don’t want to damage the new windows right away 🙂
Thank you, Marie

Hello Marie,
first of all, welcome to our group. I’m also new here, so we have to help each other 🙂
We had the same problem. We lived for many years in an old apartment with the old curtain rods. Now, in our detached house, the windows don’t reach up to the ceiling, so we looked at the hardware store. There are side brackets for café curtains that can be clipped onto window frames without drilling. Maybe that could work for you?
Best regards, Gerda

Hello Gerda,
Thank you very much.
I went to the hardware store today.
There are two different options.
One is a tensioning device that you clamp behind the frame to pull it tight, which I have now bought.
The other option is a type of bracket that needs to be screwed in, but can also be installed without drilling. However, I find the tension rod easier to use, and it also allows me to adjust the height.
So, another task is done 🙂

Hi Marie,
This shows once again what can be achieved online. No one can know everything, and here you received direct help. Solving a problem always feels good 🙂 Maybe you could share some pictures of your latest achievement with us. That would be really helpful for anyone facing the same issue.

Hello Senni,
hmm, I’ll have to check about the pictures first. We do have a camera here, but I’m not sure if it’s still installed on the PC.
I’m not really into taking pictures.
There wouldn’t be much to see anyway, since there are only two small brackets attached to the frame, where you can hang the rod that the curtain is on. From a distance, it doesn’t look much different from regular cafe curtain brackets.
You’re right about that. Before calling someone or going anywhere, it’s easier to quickly ask in a forum 🙂
