Good morning everyone, I am currently facing an issue where some doors of my Ikea Metod kitchen cabinet are stuck and very difficult to open. The hinges are original Ikea, but I suspect the doors may have warped or the installation is no longer perfectly aligned. My specific question is: How can I gently but effectively free or release the stuck Ikea Metod cabinet doors without damaging the fittings or the door fronts? Does anyone have tips for a simple approach or tools that have proven useful in such cases? I have already tried carefully pulling and prying the door slightly, but I want to avoid taking any risks. Thanks for your experiences!

Today, I slightly loosened the screws of the upper hinges and then used a plastic putty knife to widen the gap a bitThat sounds like a reasonable approach. However, I would still recommend monitoring the ambient humidity afterwards to prevent any further swelling. Anyone who frequently has problems with cabinet doors should also consider the air circulation in the kitchen in general.
In my experience, it is crucial to also check the alignment of the doors after removal and adjustments. Small adjustment screws on the Metod hinges allow fine-tuning of the alignment in three dimensions, which effectively prevents jamming in the future. Be sure to verify the alignment with a spirit level after installation.
Thanks again for the diverse input. I have now reworked the doors, sanded them slightly, and adjusted the screws. The hinges can be easily adjusted, and the doors open smoothly again without sticking. I will also take the advice on air circulation into account. Overall very helpful, thank you!
