ᐅ How can I locate electrical cables in the garden?

Hello everyone! I hope this is the right area for my question..

We plan to work on the garden next year, meaning to completely dig up the property, mill out tree roots, level the soil, install a fence, pave, and also insulate the basement from the outside... I have all the information about the water pipes, but what I don’t know—and no one at the city office was able to help me with—is where the electrical lines are located. Are there any gas pipes running through our garden? Main power underground cables? Can you tell me who I could ask about this? I also visited the town hall last week and looked through the building files; there was a lot of information but nothing about pipes, cables, etc... 🙁 Looking forward to your replies :o Best regards! Maybe ask the water authority or the energy supplier!?

As a rule, only your house connections are located beneath your property. Public main lines run beneath the sidewalks and streets.
