Hello everyone, I am currently working on a project to assemble several Ikea Metod cabinets with recessed handles. The instructions are quite good, but I find the installation of the fronts with recessed handles a bit tricky. I’m especially interested in tips on how to do this easily and neatly, without risking issues with alignment later or even damaging the recessed handles. Do you have recommendations for tools, methods, or important points I should pay close attention to? I’m also curious if there are any hacks that make assembling frame fronts easier compared to standard handle elements. Thanks in advance!

My advice is to pre-drill all holes in the fronts with integrated handles using an appropriate drill bit before assembly, especially if the holes seem too tight. This reduces the risk of the wood splitting or screws being misaligned. It also ensures a cleaner fit.

Be patient and stay calm, then everything will go smoothly. Feel free to use a spirit level and have someone help you with alignment! I can only agree with that! Assembly is definitely more enjoyable when you take it step by step and take breaks in between. And it’s much easier with two people, especially when handling the large front panels with recessed handles. Good luck, you can do it!Similar topics
