Hello everyone, I am currently planning our new kitchen and have chosen the IKEA Metod system. However, I have read that it is sometimes possible to combine Metod with elements from other IKEA kitchen series. My specific question is: What experiences have you had using Metod cabinets or fronts together with components from other IKEA kitchen lines such as Faktum or Ädel, and what should I pay special attention to? I am particularly interested in tips regarding dimension compatibility, installation options, and visual aspects. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Metod is indeed a standalone system. Here are some technical key points:
- Cabinet dimensions for Metod are standardized in multiples of 20 cm (8 inches)
- Faktum uses slightly different cabinet depths and heights
- Door attachments on Metod are implemented without drilling, whereas Faktum uses screws
For a clean combination, precise planning is necessary to adjust, for example, plinth heights and countertop layout.

Hey, I can quote EFNISCH, who said in a similar thread: "When combining IKEA series, the only consensus is usually that it gets tricky." 😉
Jokes aside – if you’re willing to take it on, plan plenty of time for adjustments and don’t be intimidated by the measuring tape. With trims, toe kicks, and color-matched fronts, you can visually balance a lot. Sometimes the creative solutions are the best part of the renovation!

That is understandable. However, caution is advised, as inaccurate planning can quickly lead to additional labor costs and material wastage. In general, I recommend following the Metod system completely to avoid compromising the installation process and warranties.

Combining Metod with other series is almost always a compromise. If you really want to mix, make sure the depth and height are the same; otherwise, you will need to use filler panels or built-in bases.
