Good morning everyone, I am looking for the most effective and gentle way to clean the glass fronts of my Ikea Pax wardrobe doors without leaving unpleasant streaks or residues. The surface is delicate, so I want to avoid using harsh chemicals or paper towels that might cause scratches. Which cleaning products and techniques have worked well for you, especially regarding a streak-free finish? I am also interested in any special tips for drying to prevent unsightly streaks after cleaning. Thank you in advance for your experiences and advice!

I know exactly how frustrating it is to put effort into cleaning the Ikea Pax glass fronts, only to end up with streaks. I often find that gently cleaning with vinegar water and always using fresh microfiber cloths helps. However, I’m wondering if any of you have experience with special glass care products that truly protect the coating? Maybe we could exchange some product recommendations here?

Which glass cleaners have you tried so far? It would also be helpful to know whether your glass panels have anti-reflective or tinted surfaces that require special care.

Thank you for the detailed feedback! So far, I have mostly used common glass cleaners, usually ammonia-based, which apparently is not ideal. The glass panels on my Pax cabinets are clear and neither tinted nor specifically anti-reflective, at least as far as I understand. My biggest challenge is that after drying, there are often microscopic streaks or residues left behind, which become especially visible in sunlight. I will try your tip with the vinegar-water solution. Is there a preferred type of microfiber cloth? For example, differences in fiber length or density?

Very good question! For glass surfaces, I recommend a microfiber cloth with a very fine fiber density, often called a "glass" or "polishing cloth." These cloths have short, smooth fibers that are especially good at picking up dirt while polishing streak-free. Cloths with long, fluffy fibers do pick up dust but can sometimes leave small lint particles on glass. An alternative is special glass-cleaning cloths with a double weave: one side picks up the dirt, the other polishes. It’s important that the cloth is perfectly clean—washed without fabric softener to avoid residues.

Your idea of using vinegar water is very good, as it removes lime scale and fingerprints better than just water. If you like, I can also provide instructions for optimal drying, if that’s of interest to you.

That would be fantastic, I would really appreciate your guide to optimal drying! The combination of the right cleaning agents and the drying process seems crucial to me. Also, do you have experience with the best ways to deal with stubborn water stains that sometimes appear from splashes? Thanks in advance for your help!
