DinguHello everyone,
I recently ordered Ikea Metod kitchen fronts with glass and am now looking for an effective and gentle way to clean the glass fronts. My requirements are that no streaks are left behind during cleaning and that the delicate glass surface is protected from scratches.
What cleaning agents and tools work best for these fronts? Are there any special cleaners or tips that help, especially with stubborn fingerprints and greasy stains?
I was wondering if a microfiber cloth combined with a glass cleaner is sufficient or if home remedies like vinegar water are better.
Best regards and thanks in advance!

For cleaning the Ikea Metod glass fronts, I recommend using a mild detergent without harsh chemicals. A lint-free, soft microfiber cloth is ideal, as it does not cause scratches.
I avoid abrasive sponges or scouring agents because the surfaces are delicate. For grease stains, warm water with a little dish soap works well. Vinegar water can be used, but in a low concentration to prevent any residue.
It is important to wring the cloth well to avoid excess water running onto the glass frames, which could cause damage.

Has anyone had experience with special glass cleaners based on nanotechnology? These claim to clean streak-free without much scrubbing. However, there is often a lack of objective comparisons.
I believe the challenge is to remove dirt effectively without damaging the coating or the frame at the same time.
Hey everyone!
I prefer to clean my Ikea Metod glass fronts with a glass cleaner spray and a microfiber cloth – it works great and leaves the fronts streak-free! 🤩 It’s important not to use too much liquid and to work in small sections.
One more tip: I finish by buffing the fronts with a dry microfiber cloth, which really makes a difference!
Give it a try, you’ll be happy with the results!

I swear by warm water and a little dish soap, just as CHENNE recommended, but with a little twist: sometimes adding a splash of lemon juice to the water helps break down grease and also acts as a natural freshener. After cleaning, always carefully wipe down with a dry microfiber cloth, because nothing is more annoying than streaks—they really spoil the overall appearance.
I have never had an issue with scratches on IKEA glass fronts when using lint-free microfiber cloths. Avoid abrasive sponges at all costs! Also, always clean using circular motions.
