Hello everyone,

I recently purchased some IKEA Besta furniture and would like to clean it as quickly and gently as possible. It is important to me that neither the surfaces get damaged nor the materials are compromised.

Specifically, I am looking for tips and recommendations on which cleaning agents and tools are suitable for the typical coated MDF panels and glass fronts of Besta, to remove dirt effectively yet carefully.

Additionally, it would be helpful to receive advice on the care and protection of the furniture to keep the surfaces looking like new for as long as possible.

Who has experience cleaning IKEA Besta furniture and can offer valuable guidance?

I also have a few Besta furniture pieces myself and can confirm that proper cleaning is really important.

I would like to add two things:

- If you have grease stains, a drop of dish soap in warm water can work wonders. Just gently rub it in and then wipe off.
- For maintenance, I occasionally use a furniture care wipe designed for plastic surfaces. It leaves a light protective film that reduces dust accumulation.

Of course, you need to be careful—not to use aggressive chemicals or abrasive cleaners! I once had an accident with too much pressure, which caused scratches or dented spots right away. I hope this helps and that your furniture stays in great condition for a long time.

Wow, thanks for the great tips so far!

I can only recommend not giving up on the tried-and-true home remedies. For example, I avoid vinegar water because of the acidity, but baking soda dissolved in water works great for light dirt without damaging the surface.

And: quick cleaning is often no problem at all if you wipe regularly, so you don’t need to use harsh cleaners or scrub for a long time!

So don’t panic, with a bit of routine you’ll manage it perfectly!
