Hello everyone, I am planning to assemble an IKEA Besta combination in an L-shape and want to maximize storage space and flexibility. Specifically, I would like to know how to best arrange the modules to mix both open compartments and closed cabinets effectively, while creating a thoughtful solution for changing needs, such as switching between TV equipment, office supplies, or collectibles. Which base modules should I choose, and what adjustments or additions (drawers, doors, legs, Varidesk components, etc.) would you recommend? Also, how can I ensure that the L-shaped combination remains stable and visually appealing? Tips on space planning and clever assembly tricks would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

Your project sounds fantastic! Imagine having the flexibility to adjust your storage exactly how you want it or according to the season, thanks to modular units! My recommendation: build open compartments on one side for technical equipment and decorations, so you have easy access and a light appearance. Use the other side with doors and drawers to create a harmonious combination, giving you space for cables and more. And regarding your question about stability: be sure to secure everything to the wall, so it stands firmly! Don’t give up, it’s definitely worth it! 🙂

Great question! I would also recommend planning modularly and using internal drawers. This way, you can store smaller items neatly while maintaining a clean look. For the L-shape, you can also use corner modules (if available) to make the most of the space. For flexibility, use small caster feet so you can move the units if needed – this gives you a lot of freedom in designing the room. Good luck! 😊
