Hello everyone, I have been using the IKEA Platsa system at home for some time and am wondering about the best way to regularly remove dust from it. The surface is mostly white and seems quite sensitive to scratches or moisture. What cleaning methods or products are most suitable for gently removing dust without damaging the surface? I am especially interested in tips on preparation, recommended tools, and maintenance advice, as I want to keep the cabinet in good condition over the long term. Thanks in advance for your experiences and recommendations!

Thanks for the helpful tips so far! One more question: How should the inside of cabinets be cleaned, especially in open shelving? Should the same method be used, or are there specific recommendations for effectively and gently removing dust from corners and crevices? I’m wondering if a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment makes sense for this, or if it’s better to avoid the risk of scratches from vacuum nozzles.

A vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment is quite suitable for open shelving units, provided the brush is clean and not too abrasive. The suction nozzle should not be pressed directly onto the surface to avoid scratches. Alternatively, soft brushes or dimpled microfiber cloths are good for reaching delicate corners.
